The Most Simple And The Best Exercise For Weight Loss

There is a never-ending list of exercises to lose weight, but not all fit readily into our daily lives. Often, the best exercise for weight loss is the most convenient, but it is here that we must choose wisely. If we’re going to allot at least half an hour to shedding pounds a day, it better work. Fortunately, the exercise that starts you on your way to weighing less is among the easiest and most enjoyable - just walking.

Walking for weight loss requires no trainer at a gym and little special equipment - just a pair of comfortable shoes. You can lose weight anywhere - around your own neighborhood or out of town. All you have to do is get out and stay out, consistently. Set a time of day in which you plan to walk, maybe before work or after dinner. The important part is sticking to it.

Why is walking so effective? Just increasing your heart rate, even by walking at a moderate and steady pace, burns calories. In addition, the movement strengthens your muscles, which alone need more calories to continue functioning - which in turn burns fat. And just half an hour to start is good. From there, you can start going further and longer. Along the way, here are 3 tips to get walking and stay walking:

1.) Find a Friend

If you meet every day with a neighbor or coworker, the friendly obligation will keep you going. You’ll be far less tempted to sleep in an extra half hour, or do something maybe less active after dinner - and they’ll feel the same way for you. Plus, it’s just nice to have someone to talk to, and share in the effort to lose weight.

2.) Pick a Route, Or a Few

Switch it up so you don’t ever get bored. Walk through a pleasantly unfamiliar area near your neighborhood. If your living circumstances offer you the opportunity, check out some local trails. 3.) Grab a Pedometer

Pedometers are small, affordable electronic devices that track how many steps you take. They measure the small movement each time you move one foot in front of the other. A recent study conducted at the University of Minnesota revealed that exercisers wearing pedometers walk as much as 30% more during the day. Two groups, each in effort to lose weight, determined to walk as much as possible during the day. One group was given pedometers, and in awareness of the measuring capacity of the device, enjoyed counting their steps - and consequently, counted on average 2500x more than the control group. You might want to think about picking up one of these handy and fun devices, found at almost any athletic store, to make your walking a little more engaging and enjoyable.

So why not put on some walking shoes? Walking is easy, fun, and one of the most highly recommended means of weight loss by fitness experts. Nobody ever said the best exercise for weight loss had to be painful. Go for it. You might just love the results.
